Zhao Loses Half Her Stack, Then Doubles

Jason Somerville was recently added to the featured table lineup, and he jumped right into the action, raising to 50,000 in the cutoff. Susie Zhao was in the small blind, and she three bet to 130,000. Gwennael Grandmougin moved all in from the big blind for 554,000, and it was back to Somerville. He folded, and Zhao thought for about a minute before making the call.

Grandmougin: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Zhao: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Zhao was in a world of hurt, but she caught help on the flop, which came {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Neither player held a heart, and Zhao was looking for more paint to come. However, the turn brought the {7-Diamonds} and the river came the {3-Hearts}.

That knocked Zhao down to 445,000 while Grandmougin doubled to 1.167 million.

Two hands later, Somerville raised to 50,000 again, and Zhao moved all in for 442,000. It folded to Nick DiVella in the small blind, and he made the call. Somerville folded, and Zhao was in trouble.

DiVella: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Zhao: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Zhao would need a ton of help, and she caught none on the flop, which came {6-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}. Zhao was drawing very thin but she caught a miracle {8-Spades} on the turn. Now it was DiVella looking for the two outer, and the river was paint, but it was the {k-Hearts}.

Zhao jumped back up to 940,000, while DiVella took a hit, dropping to 1.164 million.
