Welcome to Day 1 of the $3,000 Buy-in Pot Limit Omaha Event
As the title says, welcome to PokerNews' coverage of Event #35 of the 2013 World Series of Poker, the $3,000 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha tournament.
Last year's $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha event attracted 589 runners, who created a prize pool of $1,607,970. The lion's share of that prize pool, $361,797 of it to be exactly, found its way into the bank account of Austin Scott, his reward for becoming a WSOP champion.
We would expect Scott to buy into this event in an attempt to defend his title — he finished eighth in the same event in 2011 — along with a plenty of poker's biggest names and most recognizable faces; as soon as we see them buy in, we will relay that information to you.
Event #35 is due to commence at 17:00 local time and will continue until eight 60-minute levels are completed. There will be a 15-minute break at the end of the second and sixth level, with a 30-minute break at the end of the fourth level.
Join the PokerNews Live Reporting team from 17:00 as we bring you all of the action, as it happens, from the $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha event. Until then, why not read how last year's tournament went down and be sure to check out Kristy Arnett's July 19 update.
