Action Awaits, Day 1 Set to Begin for Event 41: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (Six-Handed)
As if things weren't already busy around at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino where five other WSOP events are currently playing out, we have one more to bring you today as part of our wall-to-wall coverage here at PokerNews. Event #41: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (Six-Handed) is due to start about an hour from now, an event sure to attract many of poker's elite players and action seekers.
Anticipation is high for this one, especially coming off last night's victory by Jeff Madsen in Event #35: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, a tournament that saw many top PLO players take part including eventual fifth-place finisher Scott Clements.
A year ago it was online star Naoya "nkeyno" Kihara of proving himself on the live felt by winning the bracelet in this event. Kihara topped a field of 419 to win the $512,029 first prize and the first ever bracelet for Japan.
Cards go in the air at 5 p.m. local time, with the Day 1 plan calling for eight one-hour levels. Join us then to follow the coverage and see who comes out for this one with hopes of winning the next 2013 WSOP bracelet.
