Lee Nearlys Triples While Eliminating 1978 WSOP Main Event Champ
Level 18
: 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Chris Lee opened for 60,000 in early position and was met by a three-bet to 135,000 by Eugene Katchalov on the button. Bobby Baldwin, who won the World Series of Poker way back in 1978, then shoved all in for 315,000 from the big blind. Lee moved all in over the top for 525,000 or so and Katchalov called to put both of them at risk.

Baldwin was in bad shape, and so was Lee as Katchalov had the granddaddy of all hands. Fortunately for Lee, he would receive a reprieve when the flop delivered him a set. The turn and river failed to change anything, and Lee nearly tripled while Baldwin was sent to the rail.
