"Hey, PokerNews... Write that Daniel Has a Million!"
Hands #108-#113
This sequence began and ended with contested hands, with David Negreanu and David Chiu each winning the blinds twice during the intervening hands with predraw raises.
The first hand saw Chiu raise from under the gun and Eli Elezra defend his big blind. Elezra took three, then one, then stood pat, while Chiu took two on the first draw and stood pat thereafter. Elezra was check-calling bets on the first two rounds, then led with a bet after the third one and Chiu called. Elezra tabled and Chiu mucked.
During those intervening hands, Red Bull Robbie counted up Negreanu's chips and announced he had 990,000, and Elezra and Chiu playfully tossed a 5,000 chip each Negreanu's way.
"Hey, PokerNews," said a grinning Elezra. "Write that Daniel has a million... we gave him enough!"
Negreanu laughed and tossed the chips back, but then he won some more outright from Chiu in another hand that saw the pair battle to the last draw — each taking one on the end — then Negreanu turning over a number three () to win.
