Hands 32-33: Liberto Lands On Broadway, Takes the Chip Lead

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #32: DeSilva upped the bet to 225,000 from the small blind, and Chen defended his big. The flop came {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, and DeSilva continued for 250,000. When Chen made the call the dealer turned the {4-Hearts}, and both players slowed down by checking. The {3-Clubs} was the river card, and again both players knuckled the felt. Desilva tabled the {10-Spades}{7-Spades} for pure air, and Chen's {10-}{6-} took it down with a flopped pair.

Hand #33: Liberto opened for a min-raise, making it 200,000 to play, and Gray three-bet to 700,000 in defense of his big blind. After some thought, Liberto four-bet to 1.825 million, putting the pressure back on Gray. The pressure did not faze him, however, and Gray five-bet all-in, a bet which forced Liberto to call off his last 4.515 million.

Showdown:

Liberto: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Gray: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

Liberto found a monster hand with big slick suited, but Gray had him in bad shape with cowboys in the hole. With the biggest pot of the day being contested, the crowd surged forward in anticipation, craning their necks to see the flop fall.

Flop: {10-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

With one deft movement, the dealer spread Gray's defeat across the table, as the flop delivered Liberto a Broadway straight. Now drawing only to a chop, Gray found no more aces in the deck, losing this massive pot in brutal fashion.
