Steen Takes The Chip Lead

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Yongshuo Zheng raised it up to 60,000 on the button, and Yngve Steen called from the big blind. The flop came down {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, and Steen check called a bet of 75,000 from Zheng. The turn was the {7-Spades}, and Steen checked again. Zheng fired out 175,000, and Steen tanked for about 30 seconds before cutting out raising chips. Eventually, he put out a check raise to 360,000, and Zheng tanked for about a minute before he started to count out his chips. He shook his head, tanked for about 30 more seconds, then kicked his hand in, giving Steen the big pot.

Steen has had a great final table so far, steadily moving up to a chip leading stack of 2.6 million.

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Daniel Cascado opened with a raise to 60,000. He was only called by Bijon Notash who was in the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {2-Spades} on the turn. On the turn Notash checked to Cascado who put out a bet of 70,000. Notash put in a reraise to 175,000 which after a few seconds of thought, Cascado called.

The river was the {A-Clubs} and both players checked to see a showdown.

Notash: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Cascado: {Q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Cacado's queens had held up through the flop turn and river and that was enough to earn him the pot.

Hiren "Sunny" Patel Eliminated in 9th Place ($45,212)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Hiren Patel
Hiren Patel

After a raise of 60,000 from Yongshuo Zheng, Hiren "Sunny" Patel moved all in for his last 270,000. Action folded around to Zheng who called quickly after hearing the amount Patel was all in for.

Patel: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Zheng: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

Patel had got it in with a coin flip for the last of his chips and he could double if he just faded Zheng's outs. Unfortunately for Patel, the flop came down {Q-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} giving Zheng the immediate lead in the hand and putting Patel in a deep hole. The turn was the {J-Hearts} giving Patel four additional outs but removing his two tens as outs. The river was not a king though as it fell the {9-Clubs}. That was all she wrote for Patel who was eliminated from the tournament in ninth place.

Harwood Doubles Into Chip Lead Through Patel

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Loni Harwood
Loni Harwood

When Loni Harwood started this hand, she was the short stack. Now, she is the chip leader.

Harwood raised it up in early position to 60,000, and Hiren Patel defended his big blind. The flop came down {9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and Patel checked to Harwood, who bet out 60,000 again. Patel thought for about 30 seconds before check raising to 165,000, and it was back to Harwood.

Harwood took her time with the decision, all the while sitting still as a statue. After about a minute, she grabbed raising chips, and put in a reraise to 335,000. Patel only took about 20 seconds to announce all in, and Harwood made the call.

Harwood: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Patel: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

It was literally a coin flip at this point, according to the Pokernews Odds Calculator, as Harwood held a 50.20% to 49.80% lead. Harwood's rail called for a deuce, and the dealer obligded with a {2-Hearts} on the turn. Harwood was looking to dodge a nine or a diamond, and she did just that, as the {q-Spades} hit the river.

Harwood scored the massive double up to 1.9 million, while Patel plummeted to 250,000.
