Future Less Bright, Schwartz Shuns Shades
Just as Level 9 was coming to a close, a big hand arose between Luke Schwartz (big blind) and Scott Palmer (cutoff).
We came on the hand after the flop had been dealt. There was about 9,000 in the middle, and it appeared as though Schwartz had checked to Palmer who'd bet, then Schwartz had check-raised to 24,000. Palmer was then making it 36,000, Schwartz reraised again to 48,000, Palmer reraised the pot, and Schwartz called all in for 115,000 total.
Schwartz had and Palmer , meaning both had trip queens. The turn was the , but the river brought the to give Palmer a full house and the big pot, and Schwartz is out.
Afterwards, Schwartz got up, broke a pair of sunglasses, then tossed five hundred dollars to Phil Hellmuth who had been sitting to his left. Once he was gone, Hellmuth explained that Schwartz had just bought the sunglasses from him before the previous hand, and so now he was out the five hundy, the sunglasses, and out of the tourney, too.
