Eric Crain - 4th Place
Eric Crain - 4th Place

Limit Hold'em

Eric Crain opened with a raise from under the gun and Steven Wolansky three-bet out of the big blind. Crain four-bet from the button and Wolansky capped it, putting Crain all in. Crain called and the hands were tabled.

Crain: {A-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Wolansky: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Spades} and Wolansky was able to win the pot with his pair of kings. Crain, who finished Day 1 of this event as the chip lead and has been a force throughout this whole tournament, has been eliminated from play. Crain will take home $64,975 in tournament winnings.

Crain Doubles Through Mueller

Level 25

Omaha Eight-or-Better

Greg Mueller opened the betting with a raise. It trickled around to Eric Crain's big blind and with only 87,000 total, Crain did not look happy.

"Wow," Crain said. "It's bad."

Another moment passed.

"Alright, good luck Greg," said Crain as he announced a three-bet. Mueller four-bet and Crain called all in.

Crain: {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Mueller: {A-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

The flop came {5-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Mueller jumped into the lead with jacks and fives. The {8-Spades} hit fourth street.

"Good game, guys," said Crain, standing up from the table and putting his backpack on.

However, his departure ultimately did not occur as the {K-Diamonds} struck fifth street and Crain was able to make a winning pair of kings.

"Wooooooow," boomed Crain. "I didn't even see the king!"

Crain is now sitting on about 190,000 while Mueller has fallen to about 600,000.

Crain in Danger Zone

Level 25

Stud

Eric Crain, showing a {6-Diamonds}, and Steven Wolansky, showing an {a-Spades}, put in three bets on the first round. Crain called a bet on fourth, then raised fifth with a six-three-nine and two diamonds. Wolansky called with an ace-ten-four and two spades. Wolansky then check-raised on sixth when he caught a king, and Crain an ace. Crain called seventh.

Crain: {x-}{x-}{x-}/{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Wolansky: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}/{a-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Wolansky's set of kings were good, and Day 1 chipleader Crain has fallen to the short stack.

Michael Malm Triples Up

No-Limit Hold'em

Steven Wolansky was first to act and opened to 24,000. Eric Crain three-bet to 68,000 from the button and it folded around to Michael Malm who went into the tank. Eventually he opted to flat call. Wolansky stuck around too.

The trio took in a flop of {8-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Malm snap-shipped all in for 59,000. Wolansky called and Crain did the same. Both players checked down the {Q-Diamonds} turn and {A-Clubs} river.

Wolansky showed {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} but was bested by Crain's {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. The best hand, however, was held by Malm who had {Q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for two pair of queens and jacks. Malm was able to triple to about 385,000.

Malm Keeps Dropping

Level 25

2-7 Triple Draw

Michael Malm opened for a raise on the button, and Steven Wolansky and Eric Crain called from the blinds.

All three players drew two cards. Wolansky checked, Crain bet, and Malm and Wolansky called.

Wolansky again drew two, and the other players drew one. Everyone checked.

Wolansky stayed pat for the third draw, and his opponents each drew one. Wolansky bet, Crain folded, and Malm made what appeared to be a reluctant call. Wolansky showed a {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Malm's cards hit the muck.
