Petersen's Aces Need a Medic

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante
Mickey Petersen's aces got cracked.
Mickey Petersen's aces got cracked.

PokerStars Team Online Pro Mickey Petersen has been nursing a short stack for most of the day and seems unable to get anything going. He sat in the small blind with 5,300 chips and pushed all in after the hijack raised to 650 and the cutoff called. The initial raiser folded and 2008 bracelet-winner Nenad Medic in the cutoff called. Petersen flipped up {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, looking to be poised to double, and Medic needed lots of help with {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. The board flopped badly for Petersen with {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, as Medic had made a flush. Petersen needed the board to pair or to find the fourth ace in the deck, but the turn and river of {8-Hearts} and {q-Spades} were of no assistance, and Petersen was forced to leave the table. Medic now sits on a stack of 14,200.
