Mizrachi Puts Polk in a Tough Spot

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Michael Mizrachi

Doug Polk raised to 3,600 in early position, Michael Mizarachi called in the cutoff, David Benefield called on the button, and Mickey Petersen defended his big blind.

The flop fell {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, the action checked to Mizrachi, and the two-time $50,000 Poker Players' Championship winner tossed out 6,300. Only Polk called.

The turn was the {3-Hearts}, Polk check-called another 8,000, and the river was the {7-Clubs}. Polk checked a third time, and Mizrachi fired 30,000 - roughly half of his stack. Polk went into the tank.

"Tough spot?" Mizrachi asked, breaking the silence.

"Yeah," Polk confirmed. "I have a jack. That's a good hand."

"It's worth thirty-thousand," Mizrachi returned, grinning.

Polk ultimately thought better of it, folding, and Mizrachi picked up the pot.
