Ivey Eliminated Short of the Money

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Phil Ivey and JC Tran were heads up on a flop of {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Tran led out for 37,000. Ivey raised to 120,000, Tran moved all in for effectively 500,000 or so and Ivey called.

Tran: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Ivey: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Ivey flopped Broadway, but he was drawing semi-dead against Tran's flush. The turn was the {10-Clubs}, giving both players an open-ended straight flush draw and even Ivey was amused.

"Straight flush draw," Ivey said.

The river was the {a-Diamonds}, eliminating Ivey and Tran is our new chip leader with over 1.3 million.
