More Greats Join The Party
As if the tournament needed any more champions we've just spotted newly seated Dan Shak, Vanessa Selbst, Dan Kelly and Paul Volpe.
Volpe won his first bracelet in the $10,000 No Limit 2-7 Single Draw event just a few days ago, and followed that one up with a cash in the $3,000 No Limit Hold'em six handed and a last night he finished 13th in the $10,000 Razz Championship for $21,371. Volpe's on quite a streak and a real contender for this year's Player of the Year if he makes another big run in this tournament.
Selbst won the first open event of the series, the $25,000 Mixed Max, for $871,148 and she will be chasing after her fourth bracelet the rest of the summer.
Dan Kelly's biggest live tournament success dates back to 2010 when he won the biggest six-handed tournament in World Series of Poker history for $1.3 million after beating Shawn Buchanan heads up.
The only player from this list of four that has not won a bracelet, Shak, has a runner-up finish in the $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, but that's not nearly his best tournament result. Shak won the 2010 Aussie Million $100,000 Challenge and made the final table in many other events to put his total earnings just shy of $7 million.
