Winter is Not Coming
Level 17
: 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Jamie Armstrong opened for 8,000 only to have Sean Winter three-bet him to 18,500. Action folded back to Armstrong and he asked how much Winter had started the hand. Winter replied with around 110K, at which point Armstrong announced that he was all in. Winter snap-called off.

Getting it in good is one thing, getting it to hold up is another. That's something Winter experienced when the flop fell to give Armstrong a pair of aces and the lead. The turn improved Armstrong to two pair, and that meant Winter needed a nine and a nine only on the river to stay alive. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't in the cards as the blanked.
