Loren Klein Bags Wide Chip Lead in Event #3
Loren Klein bagged up 133,900 to lead the 106 surviving players here at Event #3: $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha. No other player was in shouting distance of Klein, as he was the only player to crack six figures. Klein is no stranger to big-time tournament poker, as the Golden, Colo., native has over $400,000 in live cashes to his credit. His best World Series of Poker finish was a second-place cash for about $195,000 in a $2,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event in 2010.
Plenty of notable names bagged up stacks tonight, including John O'Shea (89,000), Steve "MrSmokey1" Billirakis (73,800), Phil Laak (65,700), Ashton "theASHMAN103" Griffin (51,500), online cash crusher Doug "WCGRider" Polk (39,500), 2012 Main Event champion Greg Merson (33,200), Stephen Chidwick (21,700), and Jason Somerville (16,400).
Players busting today included Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Huck Seed, Dan Smith, Phil Hellmuth, Erick Lindgren, Michael Mizrachi, Christian Harder, Dan Kelly, and Jason Mercier.
We had 1,128 entrants buy in today, and the 106 survivors will return tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the Amazon Room, where they will trim the field for Day 3. Be sure to tune back in tomorrow for all of the live updates here on PokerNews.
