Brian Rast Leads The Remaining 38 Players
Day 1 of Event #36: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball is in the books. After 10 levels of play, the starting field of 241 entrants is down to just 38 players, each with hopes of capturing a coveted World Series of Poker gold bracelet, as well as the $89,483 first-place prize.
Leading the way into Day 2 is Brian Rast with 62,950.
Many notables will be returning on Day 2, including none other than Phil Hellmuth with 42,400. Denied his 14th bracelet earlier in the summer, Hellmuth will no doubt be looking to make a return trip to the final table to capture that elusive victory. On the other hand, there were quite a few notables that gave it a go today but ultimately came up short. Among them were Scott Seiver, Barry Greenstein, Phil Laak, Marvin Rettenmaier, Dan Kelly, Calvin Anderson, George Danzer, Paul Volpe, and Larry Wright.
Play resumes tomorrow at 2 p.m. PT where the remaining 38 players will play down to a final table. Until then, good night!
