There were 1,475 players that made their way down to the Rio for Event #58: $1,500 Mixed-Max No-Limit Hold'em on Monday. When play ended shortly after midnight on Tuesday, it was Shashank Jain sitting atop the chip counts with an impressive 130,300. He's followed closely by Brandon Cantu, who ended the day with 122,300. Cantu didn't sit down until after the dinner break and was able to run up the 4,500-chip starting stack to nearly 30 times that amount in just four levels of play.

Other stacks topping the 100,000 mark included Joshua Schoonover (114,500), Rupesh Pattni (112,800), Jared Jaffee (109,300), Jared Vengrin (104,200), and Anthony Diotte (100,000). Moving on with those five are notables such as Allen Cunningham (48,600), James McManus (48,200), Dan Kelly (47,000), Jeff Gross (35,300), James Woods (33,500), Jason Somerville (24,000), Gavin Smith (22,900), Matt Waxman (19,200), Jason Koon (14,700), and Erick Lindgren (12,800). Those players make up part of the 181 that will return for Day 2 in an attempt to make the money.

A total of 162 will cash, so the bubble should hit soon after play resumes. Among those who took a shot, but failed to bag any chips were Annette Obrestad, Tony Cousineau, Alex Queen, Greg Raymer, Mike Sowers, Lee Childs, Jerry Yang, Chris Moorman, Huck Seed, Todd Terry, Kevin Saul, Dan O'Brien, Dwyte Pilgrim, Dan Shak, and Carlos Mortensen.

Cards will be back in the air at 1 p.m. local time in the Amazon Room and players will be playing six-handed for the entire day. PokerNews will be there to answer all the pertinent questions like who makes the money, who comes up short, and who will move on to the final day of play, so tune in to follow along with all the exciting mixed-max poker action.
