Hellmuth Arrives Late, Leaves Early

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Prior to the break, Phil Hellmuth raised from under the gun for 150. The player to his immediate left, a young 20-something, made it 500 to go. It was folded around to Hellmuth who four-bet to 1,000. His opponent raised enough to set Hellmuth all in and the all-time leader in WSOP cashes made the call. The hands:

Hellmuth {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Kid {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

Hellmuth had his opponent dominated and was looking good to double up to nearly 6,500 in chips, but the dealer would put out a flop that would change that as it came {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} to give his foe top set.

The turn was the {8-Clubs} and the river was the {J-Hearts}, and Hellmuth's day was done almost as quickly as it started.
