Schindler Near the Top on Day 3 of the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Big Blind Ante

The third day of Event #20: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Big Blind Ante is set to get underway at 2:00 p.m. Local time with 24 players returning to their seats. One name to keep an eye on is Jake Schindler who is entering the day in third place with 926,000 chips.

Schindler is mostly known for playing in the nosebleed tournaments with over $19 million in career tournament cashes. However, he managed to maneuver his way through a field of 518 entries and land himself in one of the best positions heading down the home stretch. Schindler was down to under a starting stack early in the day but managed to run up a healthy stack. That last level of the night proved beneficial to him as he continued to win pot after pot, closing in on 1,000,000 chips.

Some other big stacks heading to Day 3 include chipleader Chris Bolek (1,129,000) who was the only player to bag a seven-figure stack. Kenneth Smaron was the first player to one million chips but fell off at the end of the night, bagging up 990,000. More notables still in contention include Seth Davies (812,000), Asi Moshe (698,000), David Peters (171,000), and Kristen Bicknell on the short stack with 106,000.

Final Table Payouts

The remaining 24 players are all guaranteed at least $14,572 with the winner taking home $537,710 and the coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

The action will resume on level 21 with the blinds at 6,000/12,000 and a big blind ante of 12,000. The schedule indicates that a full 10 levels will be played today, but it is likely that play will be stopped early for the final table to be played on Day 4. Either way, the levels will continue to be 60-minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every two levels. If necessary, there will be a 60-minute dinner break after the sixth level.
