Two days ago a field of 481 players took to the felt to battle in one of the few smaller buy-in mixed games events on the WSOP schedule. After one full day of play, just 134 players remained, and e Amnon Filippi (71st), Benny Glaser (64th), Ylon Schwartz (54th), Chip Jett (42nd), Jon Turner (38th), Scott Seiver (34th), Fabrice Soulier (30th), Dylan Linde (24th), Valentin Vornicu (23rd), Ben Yu (22nd), and James Obst (20th) were among those hitting the rail throughout Day 2, just 16 players remained.
Leading the final 16 players is Nicholas Seiken who bagged 360,000 to be ahead of Philip Long (357,000), Jean Montury (345,000), and Nicholas Derke (338,000) as the only players over the 300,000-chip mark.
Also in contention is three-time WSOP bracelet winner David Bach (263,000), John Racener (226,500), Anthony Zinno (198,000), two-time WSOP Player of the Year Daniel Negreanu (126,000), and four-time WSOP bracelet winner Mike Matusow (83,000).
Players are currently guaranteed $6,072, and a visit to the final table will see them guaranteed to earn at least $19,404. For the player who can ascend to the top and be crowned the Event #22 champion, that will not only earn the elusive WSOP bracelet, but the $147,348 first prize.
