Vornicu Gets It All Back and More in a Massive Stud Hi-Lo Pot

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Valentin Vornicu: {x-}{x-}/{6-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}/{x-}
Kevin Malis: {x-}{x-}/{A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}/{x-}
Scott Horowitz: {x-}{x-}/{10-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Spades}{A-Diamonds}/{x-}

Action kicked off with Valentin Vornicu completing the bet. Scott Horowitz then made it two bets before Kevin Malis made it three bets. Vornicu and Horowitz both called.

Malis had the lead on fourth and bet and both players called. Malis bet again with the lead on fifth and both players called. On sixth, all three players checked for seventh street. There, action checked to Vornicu who bet, leaving himself just a bit behind. Horowitz quickly called and Malis dropped into the tank.

"There's no shame in folding," Vornicu said to Malis.

"I just have zero idea," Malis said. "If I fold a winner here, I'm just going to quit."

"Like, poker forever? Or just this tournament," Andrew Kelsall joked from a few seats over at the same table.

"Alright, fuck it," Malis said, slamming in the chips to call.

"Straight an a low," Vornicu said, showing {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Malis mucked quickly, but Horowitz held onto his cards, shook his head, then mucked shortly after. "Pleasure doing business with you boys," said Vornicu, raking in the pot worth nearly 100,000 chips.
