Ageloff Leads Last 36 Into Day 3, Four Bracelet Winners in Contention
The next event of the 2018 World Series of Poker is one step closer to crowning a champion at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, as Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better will see 36 hopefuls out of a 911-entry strong field return to the tables as of 2 p.m. local time. With the lion's share of the $1,229,850 prize pool still up for grabs, all survivors have $5,605 locked up for the efforts and a payday of $239,771 will be up for grabs for the champion.
Four former WSOP bracelet winners are still in contention to further engrave their name into poker history: Chris Bjorin (488,000) and Mike Wattel (262,000) already have two bracelets to their name, while Mike Leah (99,000) and Jason Lester (95,000) have one each.
At the top of the counts reign Brandon Ageloff (555,000) and Matt Woodward (505,000), the only two players with more than half a million in chips thus far. Further notables in contention include Chad Eveslage (364,000), Jeff Shulman (291,000), Daniel Buzgon (173,000), Kate Hoang (167,000), Julien Martini (140,000), James Chen (110,000), Danny Wong (76,000) and 2016 WSOP Main Event 8th place finisher Jerry "HumLun" Wong (48,000).
The action is set to resume with level 21 and blinds of 5,000/10,000 and one third of the remaining hopefuls has fewer than 10 full big bets for the first level. The 3-day tournament is scheduled to play down to a champion, however, an additional day may be added depending on the progress on Day 3.
