$1,500 Limit Hold’em Starts at Noon and the Winner Will be Crowned Tonight!
Welcome back to the final day of Event #41: $1,500 Limit Hold’em where one player will walk away with the first-place prize of $173,568 and the much longed for WSOP gold bracelet. Today the 19 remaining players will return at 12 noon local time with Matt Woodward leading the way with 438,000 in chips.
Woodward will be looking to lock in a win after finishing in fourth place this summer in Event #15: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E., his best WSOP finish ever among the five final tables he has already made. Second in the chip counts is Robert Nehorayan with 418,000. Nehorayan might only have four WSOP cashes, but that's just a small part of his 30-plus total live tournament cashes
Trailing in third place is Matt Russell with 361,000. This is Russell’s sixth WSOP cash to which he also adds two WSOP Circuit final table finishes. Other notable players to keep an eye on include bracelet winners Kevin Song (350,000), Matt Grapenthien (238,000), and Benjamin Scholl (93,000).
Grapenthien finished in 20th place last year in this event and so has already bettered his result, but will be aiming for another final table this summer. Meanwhile Scholl actually already has a limit hold’em bracelet under his belt for winning the $5,000 Limit Hold’em tournament in 2012.
When the players return, they will start with Level 21 with blinds of 5,000/10,000 and the limits 10,000/20,000. Just like over the past days, levels will last 60 minutes each with a 15-minute break after every two levels. A 60-minute dinner break is scheduled to take place after the sixth level at approximately 6:30 p.m.
