Star-Studded Line-Up Awaits Event #54: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em Kicking Off at 3 p.m.

Less than a week away from the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event, no-limit hold��em players will filter into the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino once again this afternoon for one of their last tune-ups before the big show with Day 1 of Event #54: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em kicking off at 3 p.m.

The event features big blind antes and a 15,000 chip starting stack. Blinds will increase every 60 minutes with a 15-minute break every two levels. Late registration will remain open until the end of the break following Level 8, approximately 12 a.m.

This is the third $3,000 NLHE event of the 2018 series. Joe Cada took down the shootout version that attracted 363 entries for $226,218, then Gal Yifrach bested a field of 868 entries in the six-handed variant for $461,798.

Some talented players have captured their first bracelets in this event over the years including the most recent victor, Harrison Gimbel. in 2017, Gimbel defeated Chance Kornuth heads-up to win his first bracelet and more impressively, the third piece of the poker triple crown. Gimbel joined Andrew Lichtenberger, Thiago Nishijima, and Sean Dempsey as the most recent champions.
