Obst Loses One; Wins It Back

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante

James Obst: {X-}{X-} / {7-}{8-}{9-}{10-} fold
Eric Rodawig: {X-}{X-} / {5-}{2-}{6-}{4-}

Eric Rodwig completed and bet fourth, James Obst called and did so again when Rodawig bet fifth. Rodawig then bet sixth and Obst quickly folded to be left with around 50,000.

James Obst: {X-}{X-} / {3-}{7-}{K-}{J-} / {X-}
Frank Kassela: {X-}{X-} / {3-}{8-}{3-}{4-} / {X-}

Shortly after he was involved in a pot with Frank Kassela and had most of his chips already in, both players opted to check sixth.

"Alright, let's bring on the skill game," Kassela said with a paired trey and bet seventh. Obst gave it some thought and called.

Kassela announced a queen and showed his {Q-}{5-} first. Obst was somewhat confused and turned over his {A-}{Q-}{4-}, thinking he also had a queen. Only then he realized that it was a jack, and he scooped a pot.

"That was actually a pretty good bet, he thought he called with a queen against my solid queen-eight," Kassela added in table chat.

In the meanwhile, Chris Klodnicki was left with only a few antes after pairing his queen. He was about to send those few chips over to Chris Ferguson, but both had checked seventh and Klodnicki was left with a chip and a chair story.
