Shak the Unkillable

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

There was 22,000 in the pot on the flop of {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and action checked over to Dan Shak, who moved all in for about 10,000. James Calderaro called before the third player in the hand made a raise to 45,000. Calderaro then dropped into the tank.

"I got a hand here," Calderaro said peeping his cards a few times. He eventually settled on a fold and that meant Shak and his opponent would turn up their cards.

Dan Shak: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Shak was behind as his opponent flopped two pair and a low already but he still had some outs to a flush.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} which gave Shak a few more outs as he made two pair as well and the river was the {Q-Hearts}. That gave him the flush and earned him half the pot.

Calderaro later said that he had a higher flush draw than Shak and had he called, Shak would've been eliminated.

"Shak, the unkillable," Robert Campbell said after the hand from a few seats over. "You've got dragon's blood."
