Day 1 of the $1,500 Mixed Hold'em/Omaha Kicks Off at 3 p.m.
With the majority of poker fans still fixated on the outcome of the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event, the series still has lots of poker action to come. Day 1 of Event #72: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed kicks off Tuesday afternoon with cards in the air at 3 p.m.
The three-day event features eight-handed tables with rotating games between No-Limit Hold'em and Pot-Limited Omaha, switching every eight hands. Players will start with 7,500 in tournament chips with 60-minute blind levels. There will be a 15-minute break every two levels with late registration open until the end of the break following Level 8, approximately 12 a.m.
At the 2017 WSOP, Sebastian Langrock navigated a field of 1,058 entries defeating Ryan Laplante heads-up to win his first gold bracelet and a top prize of $268,555. That final table also featured Esther Taylor, Shannon Shorr, and Fernando Brito.
This is just the third running of the mixed event with Langrock joining 2016 champion, Loren Klein, as the only two title holders. Klein also won his first bracelet in this event. A field of 919 stood in his way en route to a $241,427 first-place prize.
