With the Main Event on Day 7 and a lot of tournaments either starting or running already today, it's time for another Championship event. It's time for Event #74: Big Blind Antes $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed Championship.

Although the World Series of Poker says this event is a new event on the schedule, the 6-handed Championship on last year's schedule was won by Dmitry Yurasov. The only difference between last year's event and the one starting today is that today's event will make use of the big blind ante format.

Instead of a regular ante where every player will put in the required amount, there's only one player who pays the ante. In this case, the big blind pays an ante the size of the big blind and that will speed up play.

Players will start with 50,000 in chips and start in the level 100/200 with no ante. The big blind ante will come in play during the second level of the day which is 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. The tournament is set to play ten 60-minute levels on Day 1 with a 15-minute break after every two levels. The tournament will feature no dinner break on Day 1.
