Poper Doubles Through Turner

Level 32 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Joshua Turner was in the cutoff, facing off against Jimmy Poper whose 1.21 million in chips went into the middle preflop. Poper was slightly ahead with {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} as Turner rolled over {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}. The {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Spades} flop gave Poper top pair but Turner had a ton of outs, having spiked a flush draw. He turned a pair himself when the {J-Clubs} hit the felt but the {5-Clubs} river was safe for Poper and he doubled.

Turner Turns a Lock

Level 32 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Joshua Turner
Joshua Turner

Jimmy Poper raised to 250,000 from under the gun, Joshua Turner shoved from the button for about 2.12 million, and Poper called with a covering stack.

Jimmy Poper: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Joshua Turner: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

The two players were racing for the pot and Turner needed to hold up in order to stay alive. The {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} flop missed both players but the {J-Diamonds} turn gave Turner jacks full to leave Poper drawing dead. After the {6-Diamonds} hit the river, Turner took the pot to double up.

Nishant Sharma Eliminated in 19th Place ($20,336)

Level 32 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Jeffrey Tanouye raised all in from the cutoff for 935,000, Richard Ali called from the button, Nishant Sharma reraised all in from the big blind for roughly 2,300,000 and Ali called with {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Sharma trailed with {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, while Tanouye had the best of the bunch with {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}.

The board ran out {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, giving Tanouye a set of kings to triple up, while Ali eliminated Sharma in 19th place.

Jonas Lauck showed on the button for 590,000 and it got through. He showed the table that he had a pair of deuces. On the next hand, Lauck open-jammed again and Andrew Hedley reraised all in.

Lauck had {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} again and he was racing against {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. The flop of {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{K-Hearts} pushed Hedley ahead and the rest of the board bricked.

Leif Force Eliminated in 21st Place ($20,336)

Level 32 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Leif Force
Leif Force

Leif Force shoved from under the gun for about 1.69 million and Sam Simmons called from the small blind with a slightly smaller stack.

Leif Force: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Sam Simmons: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The two players were racing for the pot and Simmons needed to improve to survive. The board ran out {A-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Simmons took the pot to double up, leaving Force with crumbs.

In the next hand, Joshua Turner raised to 260,000 from middle position and Force called from the big blind to put himself at risk for what looked like 230,000.

Leif Force: {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Joshua Turner: {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

"I'll chop it, man," Turner said.

But the deck had other ideas; the board ran out {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{K-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Turner took the pot to end Force's tournament.

Bass Doubles in a Flip

Level 31 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante

From the button, Avery Bass was all in for 1,250,000 and Thi Nguyen went for it from the small blind. Bass had {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Nguyen needed a high board or spades with {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. Bass was able to avoid all lethal cards on the {2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} runout, which secured him a double.

Tanouye Doubles Through Ali

Level 31 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante

Jeffrey Tanouye shoved from under the gun for about 600,000, Richard Ali called next to act with a covering stack, and everyone else got out of the way.

Jeffrey Tanouye: {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Richard Ali: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Tanouye was ahead and Ali needed to improve to stack him. The {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop gave Ali the lead, and although the {9-Hearts} turn changed nothing, the {A-Diamonds} hit the river to give Tanouye the winning hand.
