Day 3 of Event #20: $1,500 Seven-Card Stud Begins at 2 p.m.
The cards are just about ready to go into the air for Day 3 of Event #20: $1,500 Seven-Card Stud. The field has narrowed down to 10 players, and it’s a lineup of some of poker’s most accomplished grinders coming back to battle for the bracelet and the first-place prize of $93,766.
This tournament is scheduled as a four-day event, and as of the end of play on Day 2, the plan is to play down to six players today, then bring the final six back for a final table Monday. This plan could change with just the 10 players coming back for Day 3 today, so follow the PokerNews live reporting team for updates on that decision.
The field will play 60-minute levels, with 15-minute breaks after every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break scheduled at the end of the day’s sixth level. Play will resume with Level 21, with 10,000-20,000 limits and a 2,000 ante.
Anthony Zinno (733,300) took a massive chip lead in the late stages of Day 2, and he leads a field of 10 players that own a combined 11 WSOP bracelets among them.
Zinno is looking for career bracelet No. 2, but he’ll have to hold off tough competition like Valentin Vornicu (409,000), Rep Porter (281,000), Eli Elezra (274,000) and Scott Seiver (215,000) in order to win the championship.
