Welcome Back to Day 2 of Event #22: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold'em
It was an action-packed opening day of Event #22: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold'em that saw a field of 3,253 players take to the felt in search of another World Series of Poker gold bracelet. There will be just 430 players returning for Day 2 with many familiar names still in the hunt.
One name among the leaders stands out more than the rest as Timur Margolin already has two WSOP titles to his name. Margolin bagged up a stack of 1,333,000, good enough for second on the leaderboard. His previous bracelets came in 2018, one here in Las Vegas and the other in Rozvadov, Czech Republic at WSOP Europe. Another deep run in this event could easily vault Margolin over the $2 million mark in career earnings.
Things won't be that simple, however, as with 430 players still remaining, it is still anyone's game. Some other big names to keep an eye on include Blair Hinkle (526,000), Andrew Lichtenberger (422,000), Bernard Lee (360,000), Manig Loeser (335,000), and Maria Ho (298,000). The remaining players are already in the money and have locked up $1,501. With the average stack currently being under 20 big blinds, the bustouts should come at a rapid pace to kick things off.
The action is slated to begin at 12 p.m. local time with the blinds resuming on level 21 at 8,000/16,000 with a 16,000 big blind ante. The levels will be increased to 40 minutes in length for today with a 15-minute break after every three levels. There will also be a 60-minute dinner break after the ninth level around 6:30 p.m. The schedule indicates that there will be a winner crowned today, but with 430 players still remaining, a third day seems very likely.
Either way, keep it locked here for all of the live updates from your PokerNews live reporting team throughout the day as another WSOP gold bracelet looks to be awarded.
