Event #27: $1,500 Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better has come to a close, and none other than Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi tops the field going into Day 3 play. He went on a rampage in the final level of the day, doubling his stack from the start of the final level to reach a final tally of 643,000 in chips. Mizrachi, pictured left, who owns four WSOP bracelets, including a record three in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship, was told "Congrats on your upcoming bracelet," by Jon Turner in reference to the Poker Players Championship. He may have unintentionally referenced this tournament, as Mizrachi will be wielding over three times the average stack heading into Day 3.

Notable names still in the hunt include Anna Wroblewski (189,000), the aforementioned Turner (173,000), and 2019 first-time WSOP bracelet winner Yuval Bronshtein (70,000). Others to bag include Robert Gray (510,000), Jason Daly (483,000), Cory Chaput (374,000), Jan Stein (154,000), and Eric Rodawig (55,000).

Of the 460 players to begin Day 1, just 195 players returned for Day 2 action. Of those, only 69 would walk away with a piece of the prize pool, and some of those that managed to earn a share include multiple WSOP bracelet winners Barbara Enright (27th - $3,409), and Steve Zolotow (29th - $3,409), Karina Jett (33rd - $2,991), 2018 WSOP bracelet winner Filippos Stavrakis (39th - $2,991), seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Men "The Master" Nguyen (44th - $2,688), former champ Daniel Idema (51st - $2,475), four-time WSOP bracelet winner Artie Cobb (56th - $2,475), and six-time WSOP bracelet winner Chris "Jesus" Ferguson (62nd - $2,337).

Defending champ Benjamin Dobson was unable to mount a defense, falling short of the money. Others to fail to earn a payday include bracelet winners Daniel Negreanu, Perry Friedman, Benjamin Zamani, Matt Grapenthien, Daniel Zack, Ken "Teach" Aldridge, John Esposito, and Brian Hastings, as well as Adam Owen, Norman Chad, and Alex Foxen. Cyndy Violette, searching for her 21st year with a cash at the WSOP, will have to wait for another event, as she fell on the bubble, the result of Nicholas Kiley making a straight to best her open pair of eights.

The final twenty-three players will return on Wednesday at 2 p.m. and play down to a final table of six. Be sure to stay tuned right here to PokerNews for all the action from Day 3 of Event #27: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better!
