Hand #99: Song Gets There

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Stephen Song
Stephen Song

Hand #99: Ryan Laplante raised from the button and Stephen Song defended from the big blind.

The flop came the {q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. Laplante bet 400,000 after it was checked to him and Song raised it to 1,400,000. Laplante announced raise and put out a stack of chips that totaled 5,750,000. Song thought for a couple of moments before shoving all in, which Laplante quickly called.

It was a huge moment as Laplante was head with the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} but Song had a lot of equity as he held the {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. The turn brought home that equity for Song when it came the {j-Clubs}. The river did not pair the board when the {3-Hearts} rolled off, to give Song the huge pot and put Laplante's stack in deep trouble.
