Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Robert Mizrachi: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The flop was {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} with both players still holding aces. The turn was the {10-Spades} giving Seidel a gutshot and the river was the {6-Hearts} and the two chopped it up

Epstein Takes the Lead

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

Matthew Gonzales raised to 400,000 and Alex Epstein three-bet the pot to 1,200,000 from one seat over. Once the action folded back to Gonzales, he spent some time in the think tank and eventually made the call for nearly half of his stack to see the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop. Gonzales checked and Epstein bet 450,000 to force a fold from Gonzales, who dropped to seven big blinds.

Seidel on Five Big Blinds; Mizrachi Takes From Epstein

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

James Chen min-raised to 400,000 from under the gun and Erik Seidel called out of the big blind to see a flop of {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}. A check by Seidel was followed by a bet of 450,000 of Chen and Seidel folded to be left with five and a half big blinds.

Alex Epstein then raised to 550,000 in the cutoff and scooped the blinds. Epstein remained active and raised to 550,000 once more, but this time Robert Mizrachi stuck around from the big blind. The flop brought {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} and both players checked to the {10-Spades} turn. No betting action followed and the {3-Hearts} river saw Mizrachi lead for 650,000.

Epstein Turns a Straight and Gets Paid

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Alex Epstein
Alex Epstein

Erik Seidel opened the action with a raise to 450,000 and he was called two ways by Alex Epstein and Wasim Korkis in the blinds. The {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop was checked through and the {9-Hearts} turn triggered a bet of 550,000 by Epstein. Korkis sent his cards into the muck and Seidel stuck around to see the {a-Hearts} river.

Epstein made it 1,250,000 to go and Seidel, who had 3,700,000 behind, called after some reflection and was shown the {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for the ten-high straight to scoop the first big pot of the final table. Epstein also came within two big blinds of Stephen Chidwick at the top of the counts.

Gonzales Takes it on the Turn

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

Robert Mizrachi min-raised the button to 400,000 and Stephen Chidwick came along from the small blind to see a {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Chidwick checked his option and Mizrachi continued for 525,000. Chidwick gave it some consideration and elected to fold.

Matthew Gonzales had to forfeit his big blind in that hand and raised to 600,000 from the small blind the next hand, which Alex Epstein called. On a flop of {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, Gonzales led for 200,000 and Epstein called to see the {3-Hearts} appear on the turn. A second barrel by Gonzales for 300,000 followed and Epstein quickly let go,

First Three-Bet by Chen

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

Stephen Chidwick raised to 450,000 from the hijack and Erik Seidel called in the big blind. The flop brought {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Seidel checked. Chidwick made it 750,000 to go and Seidel released his cards into the muck.

Alex Epstein then made it 550,000 from the cutoff and James Chen three-bet the pot to 1.75 million in order to force a quick fold from Epstein.

Gonzales Doubles Through Chidwick

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Matthew Gonzales
Matthew Gonzales

In the second hand of the day, Matthew Gonzales raised the pot to 700,000 first to act and called all in for 1,100,000 when Stephen Chidwick in the big blind put him to the test.

Matthew Gonzales: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Stephen Chidwick: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Gonzales flopped top set on {q-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Chidwick had a gutshot. Neither the {6-Hearts} turn nor the {6-Clubs} river changed anything and Gonzales doubled to 11 big blinds.
