Liu First to Bust on Day 1

Level 2 : 200/400, 0 ante

Sasha Liu dropped to 21,000 after two multi-way pots that were scooped by Chance Kornuth without showdown. First it was a raise to 1,800 by Abraham Faroni that was called three ways including Kornuth, Veselin Karakitukov and Liu, and after a checked flop of {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, a bet of Kornuth on the {6-Hearts} turn won the pot.

Then, Faroni opened to 1,200 and Kornuth came along from the button, as was Liu in the big blind. On the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, Liu check-folded to a bet of 2,500 by Faroni and a call by Kornuth. Faroni also bet the {6-Clubs} turn for 4,000 and received the call before check-folding the {6-Spades} river to a bet of 7,800.

Liu left the tournament area soon after and David Wang confirmed that she ended up second-best with aces against his {k-}{k-}{j-}{6-}.
