Event #46: $500 WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold'em Turbo Deepstack

Day 1 Completed

Dan 'centrfieldr' Lupo Wins Event #46: $500 WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack for $145,273.90

It took only a little over seven hours to play down to a winner in Event #46: $500 WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack and at the end of the day it was Dan “centrfieldr’ Lupo who became the bracelet winner.

With the victory, Lupo won an outstanding first place prize of $145,273.90. The New Jersey online grinder bested a field of 1,181 entries in a fast-paced turbo format.

You may say it was destined to be for Lupo as he was spotted from very early in the tournament when he was actually featured in the very first hand update of the day only 20 minutes into play when he eliminated an opponent by calling an all in shove on the flop with middle pair. His opponent held only ace-king which had missed the flop.

From that point on, Lupo held steady near the top of the chip counts, hovering around the top 10 in chips throughout the day. When the final table was reached, he was the chip leader, but it did not come without some hiccups as he was pushed down behind a few other players including ‘johnsonck’, who was making his second WSOP online final table of the week.

The defining hand of the tournament turned out to be when play was three-handed and 'johnsonck' held an overwhelming chip lead on Lupo and David ‘DTC13’ Clarke. The tables were completely turned in favor Lupo by the river card. He was actually ahead pre-flop with pocket fives against the ace-six of 'johnsonck'. But the flop provided an ace to makes things look dire for Lupo’s chances of winning the bracelet. But the five of hearts came down in a seeming miracle, to save Lupo and send him to the chip lead, which he would not relinquish as he finished off his final two opponents in a matter of mere minutes.

This tournament was a relentless storm of action in the later stages and there is plenty more of that to come, with five more online events on the schedule as well as a full slate live at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, be sure to catch the rest of the action for the 2019 World Series of Poker at PokerNews.
