Welcome To Day 2 of Event #52: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship

With one history-making day already in the books, Day 2 of Event #52: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship looks to add to those impressive numbers, as registration remains open until the first cards are pitched today at 2 p.m. local time. With 494 entrants already in the field from yesterday's Day 1, a record-setting PLO Championship has already been assured, as last year's 476 entrant field has already been surpassed.

Some big stacks include Mohsin Virani (401,000), Timothy Batow (358,700), Ben Lamb (343,700), and Andrew Loomis (329,300). Of that group, Lamb will be looking for his second bracelet in this event, to go along with the one he took home back in 2011. On the other side of the coin, defending champ Loren Klein was unable to make it through yesterday's Day, ensuring we'll have a new champion.

Sasha Liu (242,300) will be one to watch today, as her chip stack was up and down throughout yesterday, starting with her knockout of 2005 WSOP Main Event champ Joe Hachem. Some other notables that return with chips from yesterday include Ryan Laplante (206,000), Daniel Negreanu (195,400), Connor Drinan (160,500), David Benyamine (160,400), Phil Galfond (147,600), Robert Mizrachi (145,000), Scott Clements (106,000), and Justin Bonomo (70,000).

One player we'll be keeping an out for to enter today is Stephen Chidwick, who finally netted himself a first-ever WSOP gold bracelet by taking down Event #45: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller for $1,618,417. We'll see if he chooses to follow that up by attempting to take down the two largest PLO events at the WSOP back-to-back.

Cards will be in the air at 2 p.m. local time, and PokerNews will be here to capture all the action as we press on towards crowning this year's $10k PLO champion.
