At the end of Day 2, the field of talented players in the 2019 World Series of Poker Event #72: $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship was reduced to 15 hopefuls. The lion's share of the $1,109,200 prize pool is still up for grabs and the action will recommence at 2 p.m. local time on Thursday, July 4th in the Amazon Gold section.

The tournament brought a total of 118 entries in total, paying out 18 spots. The eventual winner will earn $306,622, but perhaps most importantly to some, the coveted gold WSOP bracelet. The remaining 15 players are guaranteed to pocket $17,596 when they begin Day 3.

Mike Lancaster led the field after Day 2, bagging up 1,201,000 at the close of play last night. Second in chips is the Finnish pro Juha Helppi with 986,000, who ended up second in the $3,000 Limit Hold'em 6-Handed in 2018, and two-time bracelet winner Josh Arieh follows in third place with 772,000. Arieh came close to add a fourth bracelet to his collection after finishing runner-up of the prestigious Event #58: $50,000 Poker Players Championship for $679,426.

Among the other players still in the race are Tommy Hang (527,000), John Racener (304,000), Eli Elezra (250,000) and Kyle Ray (204,000). Ray finished at the third place of the podium in that event in 2010 for $190,701 and 18th in 2014. Elezra already has one WSOP bracelet this summer; how dearly he would like to grab another today.

Play will resume at level 18, with limits of 20,000/40,000. Stay tuned on PokerNews at 2 pm for continued coverage as the final 15 players will battle for one of the last WSOP gold bracelets of the Series.
