Day 2 of Event #8: $1,000 No Limit Hold'em PA Championship is set to get underway at 5:30 p.m. EST, with 88 players returning from a starting field of 311 between three flights. Those players will play down to a winner today, with first-place earning $65,525 and a coveted WSOP Gold Bracelet, and a total of 63 players earning a payday.
Tops in the counts for Day 2 is Pennsylvania pro Ryan "fun_game" McKnight, who bagged up a hefty 138,081 chips on Day 1a to set a high-water mark that wasn't reached in the final two flights. Solve For Why Academy founder Matt "berkey11" Berkey sits in second with 114,902 chips, while the rest of the top five includes Anthony "McEye" McIe (114,758), Anthony "Ler0yBr0wn" Huntsman (109,996) and Michael "lllllllll" Wang (109,708).
Other notables that will be in action today include Brian "CleggsOnGG" Frasca (88,313), Drew "MoveBlanket" Gonzalez (73,110), Joe "ChilledChaos" McKeehen (72,732), Zach "CaptainLevi" Gruneberg (50,291), and Ryan "S5mcnulty" Van Sanford (26,954).
Play will resume today starting at Level 18 (1,000/2,000/250), and blind levels will increase to 15-minutes in length for the remainder of the tournament. The tournament will play down to a winner this evening, who will win a WSOP Gold Bracelet in addition to first-place prize money. Full payout information will be released at the start of play today.
