Who Will Reach the Final Five in Event #40: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship?
Out of a field of 149 entries in Event #40: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship, just 16 players remain in contention for the lion's share of the $1,389,425 prize pool. They will return to their seats at 2pm local time for the penultimate day of this latest 2021 WSOP Championship Event.
Leading the field into Day 3 is Kevin Gerhart with a stack of 1,075,000, closely followed by three-time WSOP bracelet winner Benny Glaser (1,045,000). They are the only two players with a seven-figure stack and lead their respective tables in pursuit of the coveted gold bracelet. Glaser narrowly missed a fourth career bracelet at the start of the festival when he finished 2nd in Event #2: $25,000 H.O.R.S.E. and showcased his prowess in mixed games.
The remaining field is filled with mixed game aficionados such as Chris Vitch, David Benyamine, Marco Johnson, Jerry Wong,Bryce Yockey, Max Pescatori, and Brandon Shack-Harris to name all but a few. To put the final 16 in perspective, 11 of them already have at least one WSOP gold bracelet to their name while Jake Schwartz has three top three finishes to his name during the ongoing series in Las Vegas.
The action will resume at 2 p.m. local time on the outer feature tables in the Amazon Room. Play begins from Level 18, which features limit blinds of 10,000/20,000, limits of 20,000/40,000 and a running ante of 5,000 in the Stud variants.
All 16 contenders have $20,272 locked up for their efforts and the penultimate tournament day will conclude once five players remain, who will then return for the live-streamed final showdown the following day. The levels for the remainder of this tournament last 90 minutes each with a 10-minute break after each level.
