Event #43: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold'em Day 1a Begins At 10 a.m.
Welcome to another day of 2021 World Series of Poker action. Event #43: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold'em kicks off today's proceedings, beginning at 10 a.m PT.
The event earns its namesake for the 40,000 starting stack players are given to begin the tournament, usually WSOP starting stacks float around the 20,000 mark. Today's play will see 11 Levels of 60-minutes, with a 20-minute break at the end of every two levels. There will be a 75-minute dinner break at the end of level 8, with registration closing at the end of the break.
Previous winners include 2018��s Robert Peacock, who bested 5,700 other entries to win the first place prize of $644,244. In 2019 it was Joseph Cheong, who topped the 6,214 field whilst also winning his first WSOP bracelet.
The players that survive day 1a are scheduled to come back Sunday at 10 a.m. for Day 2. The tournament allows a single re-entry per flight. Those who are unable to bag chips by the end of today can come back to try again on Saturday at 10 a.m. for Day 1b.
