Ray Shows the Ace

Level 33 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Joshua Ray raised to 650,000 from under the gun and Darrin Wright called next to act. Both players checked the {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop.

Ray also checked the {a-Spades} turn and Wright took the opportunity to bet 1,200,000. Ray called and they saw the {5-Hearts} fall on the river. Ray checked for the third time and Wright checked behind.

"Ace," Ray announced, turning over {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Wright mucked.

John Gilchrist Eliminated in 7th Place ($18,028)

Level 33 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
John Gilchrist
John Gilchrist

Pot-Limit Omaha

John Gilchrist open-shoved for his last 855,000 chips and it was called by Darrin Wright and Colten Yamagishi in the blinds.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts} and both Wright and Yamagishi checked. When the {10-Spades} appeared on the turn, Wright sent a bet and Yamagishi immediately folded to create the following showdown:

John Gilchrist: {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Darrin Wright: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

Wright already held the full house and the {10-Hearts} on the river didn't change anything to eliminate Gilchrist in 7th place for a $18,028 prize.

Yamagishi Doubles Through Wright

Level 33 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Darrin Wright limped in before Colten Yamagishi potted to 1,350,000. Wright called and they went heads-up to a flop of {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

Wright immediately pushed forward a stack of green 100,000 chips to put Yamagishi all in. "That's not a great flop for my hand but I call," Yamagishi said, moving his remaining 940,000 into the middle.

Colten Yamagishi: {k-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Darrin Wright: {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Yamagishi was ahead with his pair of kings against Wright's pair of sevens and straight draw. The board ran out {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Yamagishi doubled.

Small Pot for Ray

Level 32 : 120,000/240,000, 240,000 ante

No-Limit Holdem

Darrin Wright raised for 500,000 under the gun and it was called by Hanan Braun on the button and Joshua Ray in the blinds.

The flop went {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and it was checked to Braun who bet 550,000. It was enough to make his opponents fold and win the pot right away.

Kyle McLean Eliminated in 8th Place ($13,889)

Level 32 : 120,000/240,000, 240,000 ante
Kyle Mclean
Kyle Mclean

Pot-Limit Omaha

There was already a big pot in the middle on the turn with the board showing {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Victor Paredes bet 800,000 from early position, Kyle McLean moved all in for 1,870,000 from middle position, and Darrin Wright called from the button.

Paredes went into the tank before Wright called the clock. As tournament officials counted down, Paredes eventually called. Both Wright and Paredes checked the {2-Diamonds} river.

Kyle McLean: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Victor Paredes: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Darrin Wright: {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Paredes, much to his surprise, won the pot with his pair of kings against McLean's pair of queens and Wright's missed straight flush draw.

"What," he said in amazement as he dragged in the massive pot.
