Day 2 of Event #62: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better is in the books and Matthew Kaplan is the chip leader after two fast-paced days of mixed game action at the 2021 World Series of Poker. The popular format attracted 725 runners and generated a prize pool of $967,875. The Day 3 finale will kick off at 2 p.m. on November 3 where the winner will take home the WSOP gold bracelet and $186,789.

The second of three days started with 113 players and the money bubble burst within the first level to pay the top 109 players. The remaining 13 runners will move on to Day 3 on Wednesday, November 3. Players who made the money but did not qualify for Day 3 include Mike Matusow, Chip Jett, Robert Mizrachi, Andrew Kelsall,Kathy Liebert, and Ari Engel.

Tsugunari Toma, the Day 1 chip leader, came into Day 2 with more than three times the chips as his nearest competitor, but his luck turned south quickly and he was eliminated halfway through the day.

Kaplan holds the chip lead and will return in search of his first bracelet. He has cashed three times at the 2021 WSOP and this will be his first cash in an Omaha variant.

Among the other chip leaders that will try to catch Kaplan on Day 3 are Kevin Gerhart, Dustin Dirksen, and Roman Hrabec. Gerhart seeks his fourth bracelet and second of the 2021 WSOP, while Dirksen and Hrabec are in search of their first WSOP title.
