Esther Taylor: {x-}{x-}/{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}/{x-}

Esther Taylor completed and was called by John Monnette. Monnette bet out on fifth, sixth, and seventh streets. He ended up with {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for a pair of sixes and a 6-5-4-3-A low.

Taylor gave one last long look at her cards before sending them into the muck as players headed out on a 15-minute break.

Perry Friedman: {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Glenn Cozen completed, leaving himself just 10,000 behind, and Perry Friedman raised enough to put Cozen's last chips in the middle.

Friedman had two pair, fives and threes, with a low showing by seventh. "I have a low so I can't lose," he told Cozen. Cozen had a pair of nines but failed to improve on seventh, hitting the rail in 11th place.

Cozen Staying Alive

Level 25

John Racener: {x-}{x-}/{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Glenn Cozen: {x-}{x-}/{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{j-Spades} - folded

With a pair of tens showing, John Racener bet into Glenn Cozen on fifth street. Cozen let out a frustrated sigh before letting go of his hand, leaving himself just 30,000 behind.

A few hands later, Cozen called all in with the {5-Clubs} showing on third and was up against Perry Friedman and John Monnette. Monnette made a pair of tens with {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} showing and Friedman folded to a bet.

Monnette finished with {j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for a straight. Cozen peeled his last card and turned over a {2-Spades} to complete a board of {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} to make a low and split the pot.

Richard Bremer Eliminated in 12th Place ($5,195)

Level 25
Richard Bremer
Richard Bremer

Richard Bremer got the last of his chips in on fifth street versus John Hoang, then flicked in a small red lammer that said "one time".

The hands were turned up, and Bremer would need that "one time".

Richard Bremer: {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}/{3-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
John Hoang: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}/{4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Hoang was rolled up with fours, but Bremer had a flush draw.

Bremer drew a useless {j-Spades} on sixth, while Hoang added the {8-Clubs}.

On seventh street, Bremer got his one-time, drawing the {10-Clubs} for his flush, however, Hoang then turned over the {8-Hearts} for a winning full house to eliminate Bremer.

Joseph Kupresanin Eliminated in 13th Place ($5,195)

Level 25
Joseph Kupresanian

Joseph Kupresanin: {x-}{x-}/{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Peder Berge: {x-}{x-}/{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Jermaine Reid: {x-}{x-}/{k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Jermaine Reid completed before Joseph Kupresanin raised. Peder Berge then attempted to raise but didn't put in enough chips. The floor had to be called over to sort out the amount of Berge's raise, then Reid called.

Kupresanin raised again, and both opponents called. Berge bet on fourth, Reid called, and Kupresanin called all in. Berge picked up a third deuce on fifth and Reid folded to a bet as the players put the cards on their backs.

Berge showed {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Clubs} for a full house. Kupresanin had {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, missing his low draw and hitting the rail as the first casualty of Day 3.

Full Value For Fuchs

Level 25
Carol Fuchs
Carol Fuchs

On third street, Jermaine Reid brought in, and Carol Fuchs limped into the pot heads-up.

Fuchs then led every street, with Reid calling the whole way.

Carol Fuchs: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}/{x-}
Jermaine Reid: {x-}{x-}/{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}/{x-}

After her bet was called on seventh, Fuchs showed {k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for two pair, kings and threes to scoop a big pot and put her amongst the chip leaders.

Star-Studded $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Field to Crown a Champion Today

John Racener
John Racener

There are a ton of great storylines entering the final day of action in Event #69: $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better, and they begin right at the top of the chip counts from the remaining 13 players.

World Series of Poker bracelet winners John Racener (1,220,000) and John Monnette (1,165,000) are in search of their second and fifth bracelets respectively. A win for Racener would vault him into contention for WSOP Player of the Year, while Monnette could potentially grab his second title this year alone, after claiming the $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship last month.

Right behind them on the leaderboard is Esther Taylor (1,100,000), who along with Carol Fuchs (940,000), will be trying to become the first woman to win a bracelet at this year’s WSOP. Taylor is in search of her first piece of WSOP jewelry, while Fuchs is after her second, having won the $1,500 Dealer’s Choice event in 2015.

Also over a million chips to start the day is John Hoang (1,065,000), who has a pair of WSOP Stud and Stud 8 or Better final tables to his name from back in 2004 and 2006. He’ll also be in search of a long-awaited bracelet today.

Day 1 chip leader Jermaine Reid (725,000) is also still in the field with a healthy stack. With a previous best-ever WSOP cash of $5,605 to his name, he’s on the verge of bettering that number and then some, with the $113,459 top prize firmly in his sights.

The players will gather in the gold section of the Amazon room at 3:00 pm today to play down to a winner, beginning at level 25 with a 10,000 chip ante and bring-in, and limits of 30,000 and 60,000. Levels will again be 60-minutes long with 15-minute breaks every two levels, and a potential dinner break to be determined as the day progresses.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the action, as we crown another World Series of Poker champion at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.
