Spencer Puts Wiegmann to the Test
A completed board of was spread across the table with just over 1,000,000 chips in the middle. Cody Wiegmann led out with a bet of 875,000 and Lewis Spencer made a massive shove for his remaining 5,995,000 chips.
Wiegmann sat back in his chair and his eyes grew wide as he asked for a count. The two players had very similar stack sizes but Wiegmann had Spencer barely covered. A couple of minutes passed by and Spencer asked for the clock. The tournament floor denied the request and Wiegmann stayed in the tank.
After four minutes passed, the floor gave Wiegmann a one-minute warning. As the time neared zero, Wiegmann finally made the call. Spencer turned over for two pair while Wiegmann showed for an inferior two pair. Spencer collected a full double up and left Wiegmann on the short stack.
