Kelsall Wins Battle of the Blinds

Level 21 : 13,000/25,000, 0 ante

With Mike Lancaster in the small blind and Andrew Kelsall in the big, Lancaster raised and was three-bet by Kelsall. Lancaster called and the flop came down {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Lancaster check-raised Kelsall and was reraised by Kelsall, which he then called.

The turn was a {k-Diamonds} and both players checked.

A {8-Diamonds} came on the river. Lancaster bet and Kelsall called.

Kelsall showed {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Lancaster said that he had tens and showed a {10-Diamonds} but Kelsall's pocket jacks won the pot.

Ramos Grabs Chips from Rocco

Level 21 : 13,000/25,000, 0 ante

In a blind versus blind situation, Gabe Ramos completed his option and called a raise from Michael Rocco. The flop fanned {q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Ramos check-called another bet from Rocco.

Both players checked throughout the {j-Hearts} turn and the {6-Hearts} river and Ramos tabled {q-}{6-Diamonds} for trips while Rocco quickly sent his cards into the muck.

Ausmus Finds a Flush on Grech

Level 21 : 13,000/25,000, 0 ante

Jeremy Ausmus started the action with a raise on the button and it was called by Zachary Grech in the big blind.

The flop came {8-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Spades} and Grech led out with a bet, called by Ausmus. The {2-Hearts} landed on the turn and Grech bet again and faced a raise from Ausmus. After some consideration, Grech made the call.

The {9-Spades} river completed the board and this time Grech checked. Ausmus sent a bet and Grech called, but sent his cards into the muck when he saw {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} in Ausmus's hand for the flush.

Kevin Erickson was in the hijack and Zachary Grech in the cutoff and the two had capped the raises preflop. The flop came down {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Grech bet with Erickson raising all in, which Grech called.

Kevin Erickson: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Zachary Grech: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The turn was a {2-Diamonds} and the river a {10-Diamonds}, which was no help for Erickson's overcards. Grech's pocket eights were enough to win the pot.

First Pot for Ausmus

Level 21 : 13,000/25,000, 0 ante

In a raised pot on a flop {4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, Jeremy Ausmus checked from the big blind and so did Kevin Erickson.

The turn brought the {7-Diamonds} and this time Ausmus sent a bet, called by Erickson after some thinking.

On the {9-Hearts} tiver, Erickson called one last bet from Ausmus but mucked when the latter revealed {k-Clubs}{5-Spades} for two pair.

A Winner Will be Crowned in Event #23: $3,000 Limit Holdem 6-Handed

Michael Rocco
Michael Rocco

The 2022 World Series of Poker continues at Ballys and Paris Las Vegas as the final day of Event #23: $3,000 Limit Holdem 6-Handed is set to begin.

The tournament attracted 203 total entries to create a $568,710 prize pool, and after two days of battle, only nine players remain for the third and final day of this event. Michael Rocco holds the chip lead after bagging 1,675,000 chips at the end of Day 2. Rocco is a WSOP Circuit ring winner and has already cashed in 37 WSOP events, including a recent final table in Event #12: High Roller No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed, but will be looking for his first gold bracelet in a stacked field of WSOP champions.

Some other notables to keep an eye on as the day unfolds include bracelet winners Jeremy Ausmus (1,170,000), Andrew Kelsall (1,145,00), and Shaun Deeb (715,000), who will try to add a fifth bracelet to his collection, as well as Gabe Ramos (1,100,000) and Mike Lancaster (970,000).

The action will get underway at 1 p.m. local time with the start of Level 21 and limits of 25,000/50,000, leaving not much room for the short stacks to play around.

The final nine have already secured at least $11,980 for their deep runs, but of course all have their eyes on the $142,147 top prize and the prestigious WSOP bracelet.

The levels will continue at 60-minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every two. Here is a look at the chip counts for the start of the day. A redraw will be done at 7 players for the unofficial final table.
