Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Athanasios Polychronopoulos
Athanasios Polychronopoulos

The player in late position shoved all in for around 60,000 and Athanasios Polychronopoulos moved all in from the hijack over top. The remaining players got out of the way and left the two to battle it out heads up.

Athanasios Polychronopoulos: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out [6d3d2hJs1c] giving Polychronopoulos a flush draw off the flop. He didn't hit but didn't need to as his ace-king high was enough to take the pot and knock his opponent out of the tournament.

Alsup Ascending

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Action was picked up in a pot with 103,000 in the center between a player in the big blind and Rich Alsup in the hijack.

On a board reading {2-Spades}{a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, the big blind checked to Alsup who bet 66,000. His opponent went into the tank, counted out a call and put in the chips.

"Set," Alsup declared as he turned over {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} for a set of sevens. His opponent shook his head and turned over {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a second best two pair, and Alsup took a giant pot to build his chip stack higher.
