Day 2 of Event #42: $100,000 High Roller Set to Begin at 12 p.m.
It will be a quick turnaround for the 23 players that bagged up chips at the end of Day 1 in Event #42: $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em. Just 12 hours later, they will be returning to the felt at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas for Day 2 as the action kicks off at 12:00 p.m. local time with plenty on the line.
The opening day of the event attracted a total of 52 entries that saw more than half of the field eliminated through the first 12 levels. Late registration will remain open until the cards go in the air today for any of those looking to make a last-ditch effort.
Masashi Oya bagged the largest stack of the day and will return with 2,765,000 chips in his bid to make a deep run. Some other notables that maneuvered their way through to Day 2 include 2021 WSOP Main Event champion Koray Aldemir (2,390,000), GGPoker ambassador Jason Koon (2,230,000), recent bracelet winner Dan Smith (1,590,000), and ten-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey (1,410,000).
The field was littered with high-stakes poker pros and that trend is expected to continue over the course of the next two days en route to crowning a champion. The schedule for today indicates that they will play down to the final five players which should come rather quickly. The levels remain at 40 minutes in length throughout the tournament and the pace of play is expected to be lightning-fast with the ability to get all the chips in the middle from all of these players.
