Today kicks off the first day of Event #45: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas. This event has been a staple of the World Series of Poker for years now and usually boasts one of the biggest non-no-limit hold’em fields that the series can offer.

Reigning player of the year Josh Arieh was the victor of this event in 2021, taking down his third WSOP bracelet and the first-place prize of $204,766. Last year, this event saw a total of 821 entrants take their seats and an even bigger turnout is expected this year.

Arieh is likely to fire this event, as are many other players such as WSOP bracelet winners Ryan Laplante, Maxx Coleman, Tommy Le and Ari Engel.

Play begins at 11 a.m. and the starting stack is 25,000 in chips. Blinds start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. The levels on Day 1 will last 40 minutes each, with 20-minute breaks after every three.

Following Level 9 there will be a 75-minute dinner break, after which registration will close. Play will continue until the end of Level 17 when survivors will bag their chips for Day 2.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the updates from this event and every event from the World Series of Poker.
