Hellmuth Gets Flush Taken Away, Gets Another One

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Phil Hellmuth was all-in on the flop with the board showing {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, he turned over {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs} for some straight and flush draws.

His opponent had {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades} for two pair and Hellmuth needed to improve.

The dealer turned over the {2-Clubs} on the turn, completing Hellmuth's flush, before the table realized there were already three burn cards. A tournament official was called over and it was ruled the {2-Clubs} was actually the burn card and a new turn had to be revealed.

Having his flush taken away, Hellmuth got another right away when the {a-Clubs} appeared. The river came the {3-Hearts} and Hellmuth doubled up.

"I wouldn't have been too upset," the "Poker Brat" said, noting he would've just re-entered anyway and had more chips than he currently has.
